HTMA for Women doesn't operate a laboratory. Your hair sample is analysed by a specialist Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis laboratory — the laboratories we work with are named below, with links to their own published information — and your results are interpreted separately by a trained practitioner.

Who does what

Clear roles, from sample to interpretation

Each part of your HTMA is handled by a different party. Here's exactly how they fit together.

The laboratory: Measures the concentrations of minerals and trace elements in your hair sample and reports them. A laboratory report is a set of measurements — not a diagnosis.
The Root Cause Protocol: A mineral-focused approach to health that names Trace Elements, Inc. as its preferred HTMA laboratory. It plays no part in processing your test, and its preference is for the laboratory — not an endorsement of HTMA for Women.
Your practitioner: Where a consultation is included, your results are interpreted by Valerie at WellbyVal, a Root Cause Protocol Consultant (RCPC) certified through the RCP Institute and trained in HTMA interpretation. She considers your results alongside your history, symptoms and lifestyle.
HTMA for Women: The educational, client-facing platform you're on now. It explains HTMA and guides you into the process — it doesn't analyse samples, and it doesn't diagnose.

Measurement, not diagnosis

What a laboratory report can — and can't — tell you

What it shows

The measured concentrations of selected minerals and trace elements in your hair
The ratios and relationships between those elements
A record reflecting roughly the last three months of hair growth

What it doesn't establish

A diagnosis of thyroid, adrenal or hormonal conditions, or any disease
Confirmation of a nutrient deficiency or heavy-metal toxicity on its own
A replacement for blood testing or advice from your doctor
